Iowa Wine made with Iowa-Grown Grapes
Iowa has come a long way with regard to wine-making and grape-growing. No need to pretend to be anything other than what we are - which is dedicated vintners producing outstanding wine! We want to help people appreciate native wines and understand more about the grapes grown in Iowa and the wines made from those grapes. That's why we sell only wines made in Iowa using grapes that can be grown in our state.

So you have a favorite Cabernet? You won't find it here but we'll show you a fabulous Marechal Foch that will make you very happy! Maybe you're a Riesling fan; we'll introduce you to a native wine made from La Crescent grapes that you're sure to love. Daily wine tastings are complimentary because we're on a mission to help our guests discover native wines and appreciate the Iowa-grown grapes from which they're made.
Hybrid Grapes
Hybrid grapes were created in response to a devastating insect problem in the early 20th century. Hybrid grapes are grape varieties that are the product of a crossing of two or more Vitis species. Genetic diversification made hybrid grapes not only more resistant to insects and diseases (like powder mold) but also more tolerant of cold climates. Just as not all people are cut out for the Iowa climate, neither are all grape varieties!
