We also offer wines from dozens of native Iowa wineries, Iowa craft-beer, wine slushes, Art and gifts by Iowa artists, and two unique, one-of-a-kind lodging options (reserve on Airbnb.) With complimentary wine tasting every day, Heaven is a beautiful place to discover your new favorite Iowa wine or craft beer, pick up beautiful are or the perfect gift, and unwind with friends while overlooking our lovely vineyard in the heart of the gorgeous Driftless countryside.
NEW IN 2025 - The Art Studio at Heaven. We turned a 36' grain bin into an amazing 1000 sq. ft. Art Studio. We are scheduling fun creator classes most Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. We're working hard to find the most interesting classes for you, including painting wine glasses, making handmade paper, creating cutting boards and other wood crafts, seasonal sign painting, mandala painting bottle lights, hummingbird feeders, wreath making, macrame, jewelry working, ceramics, fascinating lecture series, painting with Annie Seitz and more. The space is also available to rent for small groups/meetings. Call Lisa for more information.
You are welcome to bring food along to enjoy with your Iowa wine/beer, except on Friday Night Live Music event nights when we have a food truck serving a variety of amazing food. No outside beverages, please. Pets welcome (on leash) and kids welcome (leash optional.) Check out our events calendar for the Friday Night Live Music schedule.
cVolga River Vineyard
Our vineyard is located in Heaven, the farm where Lisa's mother, Connie Rohde Halvorson, grew up. Just north of Fayette off highway 150, we are at the west entrance to the Volga River State Recreation Area. The first vines were planted in 1999 by Lisa's parents, Roger & Connie Halvorson. The two-acre vineyard is now lovingly tended by our Chief Grape Stomper and Vintner, Carlton.
Iowa Wines
We are a boutique winery and as such produce select vintages in limited quantities throughout the year. Our first releases, Mother's Little Helper and Fishing Widow, debuted in the fall of 2020. We released our third wine, Love is Love, for PRIDE month in June 2021 and our first dry red wine, Amortentia, debuted in September 2022. Our newest vintage, Daydream Believer, was released in July of 2023.
In 2024 we made a watermelon wine for the Fayette Sesquicentennial. It sold out fast but will be back in 2025 as a regular part of our lineup. Ooh La La, a blend of sweet peaches and tart raspberries, was released in time for the Paris Olympics. Next came Lisa's favorite, off-dry Rohde Red, followed by the year's best seller - Sweet Forgiveness!
In 2025 we plan to release EIGHT NEW VARIETALS, including an off-dry LaCrescent, White Cranberry, Spiced Caramel Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Strawberry, Watermelon, and a sweet red blend called Heart of the Country. (Carlton is spending a lot of time in the cellar these days!)
Everyone's favorite - WINE SLUSHES - are back, along with our extensive selection of Iowa craft beers. In addition to our wines, you may select from one of the dozens native wines we have handpicked from wineries all over Iowa, including many not previously available in this region. Available by the bottle or by the glass, our selection of Iowa wine will change often so stop in to see what's new and to let us know what you'd like to see in Heaven!
